Dr. David Dornfeld
Dr. David Dornfeld has been a practicing Family Medicine in New Jersey since 1986. He received a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a Doctorate of Osteopathy from the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Osteopathic medical schools (D.O. degree) train students in all aspects of medicine that are taught in allopathic schools (M.D. degree). Additionally, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine are trained to use their hands as diagnostic and treatment tools for: enhancing the immune system, improving lymphatic drainage of inflammatory conditions, and alleviating most musculoskeletal conditions.
After graduation from medical school, Dr. Dornfeld became board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He also has additional training in Travel Medicine, Emergency Medicine and has been certified by DAN (Divers Alert Network) in Diving Medicine. Throughout his medical career, he has been dedicated to diagnosing, treating and helping people by combining traditional with holistic medicine and natural therapies. Dr. Dornfelds expertise in OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy) speeds his patient’s recovery from most musculoskeletal ailments and makes them feel better.
In 1994 Dr. Dornfeld became Board certified by ACAM (the American College for the Advancement in Medicine). He continues to advance his knowledge and skills in alternative and traditional therapies, and tailors their use to the specific needs of each patient. This provides alternative and complimentary medicine to his patient’s individual treatment requirements. These treatments include:
Dr. Dornfeld has received, and continues training in courses by DAN! - Defeat Autism Now. Dr Dornfeld recently completed his Fellowship in Autism Spectrum Disorders through The Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MAPS) and is now on the clinical training faculty training specialists worldwide. His desire for improving children and adults afflicted with Autism Spectrum Disorders, (i.e. Autism ADHD, ADD, Aspergers Syndrome) led him to incorporating Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy into his practice. HBOT has been shown to be of great benefit in many other neurological disorders as well. Family Wellness Center is an approved Provider by the International Hyperbaric Association.
In addition to his dynamic medical practice, Dr. Dornfeld is also a Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine. He shares his experience and skills with medical students, who are invited to learn in his office. Among his favorite lessons for his students and patients is that the term "doctor" means "teacher". To this end he always tries to teach his patients proper eating habits, combined with proper exercise. This, plus reducing or correcting heavy metal and environmental pollutant accumulation, combine to help preserve his patient’s ability to fight the aging process, while reducing their risks of developing cardiovascular problems or cancer.
When time permits, he enjoys scuba diving, under-water photography, snow and water-skiing.

Dr. Lisa Zimmermann
Dr. Lisa Zimmermann trained in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital Manhasset NY 1987-1990 and achieved Board Certification In Internal Medicine in 1990. She continued her desire to help others as she completed the appropriate training to achieve Board Certification in Geriatrics in 1994.
She has practiced Internal Medicine in Monmouth County since June 1990 and was dedicated to helping her patients stay well. After practicing Primary Care/Internal Medicine for 15 years, she encountered many complex medical issues that were not adequately diagnosed or treated by conventional medical practice. She began to incorporate Integrative medicine into her medical care to help her patients.
Many illnesses required treatments that included; Hyperbaric Oxygen, Chelation, Bio-identical Hormone Replacement and other Integrative treatments for the patients to achieve optimal health. She also is an expert in diagnosing subclinical hypothyroidism as well as using Bio-identical Thyroid Replacement hormones to help many patients overcome many years of fatigue. She is also trained in The Wiley Protocol of Bio-identical female and male hormones to replace depleted hormones in a natural biological rhythm for optimal health.
Dr. Zimmermann also received training by ILADS ( The International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) for Lyme disease and other tick borne co-infection illnesses and is strongly dedicated to diagnosing and adequately treating these complex patients. Often this also involves diagnosing other exposures to viral illnesses such as Epstein Barr virus or Environmental exposures/toxicity, which often will make the patient suffering with Lyme disease, have more symptoms. These complex combinations challenge the physician to treat all illnesses in the patient, so that they will get better steadily.
Dr. Zimmermann has recently achieved certifications at ACAM- The American College for the Advancement of Medicine in Chelation Therapy and Oxidative Medicine.
In addition to her medical training Dr. Zimmermann also enjoys practicing Aesthetic Medicine and has over 9 years of experience in aesthetic Laser and Botox, Juvederm XC injectables and skin care for acne and anti-aging.
She enjoys making patients feel good about their appearance as well as achieving optimal health.
In her free time Dr. Lisa Zimmermann enjoys exercising, yoga, swimming and restful vacations at the shore with her husband and two daughters.
